A blank field is left out

Most generators emit every property whether or not you filled it in, producing empty strings that fail validation. Anything you skip here simply isn't in the output.

Markup has to match the page

Marking up an FAQ that isn't visible to a visitor is a structured data violation, not a shortcut. Only describe content that's actually on the page.

Paste it in the head

The output is a complete script tag. Drop it into the page's head or body — either is valid, and both are read the same way.

What this doesn’t tell you: Generating valid markup is not the same as being eligible for a rich result — Google also requires the marked-up content to be visible on the page itself.
